14 Jan 5 Healthy Habits to Get into this Year
January is a time for new beginnings, and an opportunity to implement healthy habits that will stick with you longer than just this year. These aren’t resolutions to inevitably break come February, but smaller, achievable goals that could easily become daily habits.
Drink More Water
Made up of mostly water, human bodies crave hydration. Replenishing its supply will make you more alert and less stressed while improving your skin. A good rule of thumb is striving to drink half your body weight in ounces. So, if you weigh 200 pounds, you should be consuming 100 ounces of water.
Get Adjusted Regularly
Adding the routine of visiting a chiropractor consistently will advance and preserve your health. Chiropractic care involves your whole body, and a chiropractor can determine what measures may need to be taken to improve your overall health—not just the immediate symptoms.
Be More Active
Sitting all day has become a societal norm, but is detrimental to overall health. Remaining stagnant can lead to high blood pressure, excess body fat and a slew of other issues. Getting up and moving around benefits your body, mind and soul.
Minimize Screen Time
The average person spends 11 hours looking at a screen every day, and that time is increasing each year. Blue light tricks the brain into thinking it is daytime, no matter what time it actually is, making your brain incapable of shutting off when it needs to.
Cook More
Save money, know what you’re consuming and eat better! Eating out may be the convenient choice, but it is also easy to fall into ordering unhealthy options. Instead of trying to eat healthier options (which often aren’t), schedule some time to cook at home.
